THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Anderson's Old-Fashion Bar-B-Q Restaurant Review:
Barbecue and Southern side dishes rule in this very unfussy 'cue joint. Rib tips are tender and smoky. Unique items include the pig ear sandwich---no joke. The King plate, including barbecued beef ribs, pork ribs and chicken, is a meal deal. The barbecue sauce---you choose mild or hot---will be poured all over the meats unless you request it "on the side." Good macaroni and cheese, fairly standard but flavorful Brunswick stew, and high-quality baked beans and cole slaw are worthy companions to the 'cue, as are any of the desserts, especially the cobbler or the sweet potato pie. This is one of the city's older barbecue joints, spanning three decades.
