THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Aoki's Shave Ice Restaurant Review:
Aoki's hibiscus-red store hasn't changed much over the last 25 years, and remains a favorite with locals and tourists passing through historic Haleiwa town. This down-home shop hand-mixes its 27 different flavors of shave ice syrup every day. The staff favorite---and ours---is the "local mix," composed of pineapple, vanilla and li hing (preserved salted plum) syrups. The ice here is very fine but not packed tight, so eat it quickly before it melts.
