If you want a decent pint of Guinness, the O'Connor Don is the place for you. It's an Irish pub owned and run by a charming Irishman, rather than by a big corporation, and the quality of drink is clearly important to him. Hearty sandwiches, gammon and champ are served in the bar, but if you want something slightly more delicate, head upstairs to the Ard Ri Dining Room where you'll find remarkably good Irish cooking---hot buttered oysters; Irish beef and Guinness sausages; the inevitable Irish stew---and a decent wine list. In keeping with the rest of the place, the room looks a little eccentric and the service is haphazard but well meant.
