Artu Restaurant Review:
Despite its high end location, this small gem in Beacon Hill has a reasonably priced menu. Amid brick walls and an open kitchen, the Italian rosticceria offers basic meats, panini and antipasti prepared with Tuscan simplicity. Grilled seasonal vegetables are no frills but enjoyable while the penne puttanesca delivers a good kick of spices to complement the capers, tomatoes, olives and anchovies. The sweetness of sautéed shrimp is complemented by garlic sauce tossed with calamari, mussels, clams and plum tomatoes. A nice selection of wines from Italy, New Zealand and California (to name a few) is available by the glass, bottle or half bottle. For lunch, don’t miss the homemade panini made with rotisserie beef, pork loin, chicken and sausages.
