Antiquity Restaurant Restaurant Review:
Behind a humble adobe Old Town façade lies a decades-old bastion of bygone elegance, small, woody and warm in crimson. As served by a polished staff, the menu rarely changes, hearkening back to the days when cream-and-butter-drenched Continental cuisine held sway; if shrimp cocktail, parchment-baked salmon in Champagne sauce and Châteaubriand for two carved tableside still have their place, it is here, paired with wines from a list that, if hardly adventurous, is certainly appropriate (not to mention extremely budget-friendly, with most bottles under $30). Specials du jour do skew more modern, but we figure, why enter a time capsule if not to inhabit it from start to finish? And speaking of the finish --- end on a high note with the signature dessert, a rolled crêpe filled with walnut cream.
