Badmaash Restaurant Review:

At Badmaash, a stylish Indian-inspired gastropub that feels more London than Los Angeles, chef Pawan Mahendro prepares modern takes on many classics with the help of his son Nakul, while his other son, Arjun, runs the dining room. Samosas are an essential beginning to the meal --- fluffy pillows filled with richly seasoned ingredients like short rib and pineapple. Other small plates include chicken tikka poutine: french fries dusted heavily in masala spices, topped with chicken tikka and cheese curds, which can be dipped in thick brown gravy. Ghost chili lamb vindaloo is not for the faint of heart, with chunks of lamb and potato braised in a dark curry that is intensely spicy. A lamb burger is the quintessential combination of Indian meets American, with an eight-ounce patty ground with various spices and finished with spicy mayonnaise, onion, lettuce and tomato, all on a soft brioche bun. To complement the cuisine, one should drink a refreshing Indian lager or crisp white wine like an Italian Falanghina.
