Cafe Agora Restaurant Review:

Blue and white colors suggesting the many bodies of water that surround Turkey, from the Aegean Sea on the west to the Black Sea on the east, create a bright and airy atmosphere at this casual establishment's Buckhead location. Well-spaced tables and wall imagery reinforce the comfortable feeling. Some of the food will be well known to anyone who has explored Middle Eastern fare --- tabbouleh, baba ghanouj, dolmas and sundry eggplant dishes --- but other items may well be unfamiliar. Among the latter is haydari, a dish of labni (a thick yogurt), walnut, dill, lemon juice and olive oil, and piyaz, white beans, diced tomatoes, red onions, carrots, potatoes and olive oil. Then turn to the myriad kebabs (we recommend the lamb) for a main plate. A small square of house-made pistachio baklava makes a sweet conclusion. The wine list has a standout, a wine from Turkey, Yakut Cabernet Sauvignon, bringing the meal full circle. Also located at 92 Peachtree Pl. NE, 404-253-2997.
