Founding Farmers MOCO, Potomac, MD

Founding Farmers MOCO Restaurant Review:

Taking its farm-friendly message out to the ’burbs, DC’s popular two-level restaurant also generates enthusiasm in its Potomac/Rockville setting. And with good reason: The cooking is all-American --- just try the New Orleans-style stuffed french toast for brunch to underscore that --- and packed with wholesomeness. Other brunch treats, set off by a basket of hot biscuits and cups of coffee, include red flannel hash, beignets, pancakes, fried chicken with waffles and, of course, eggs and bacon. Like its downtown sibling, this outpost offers lunch and dinner flatbreads with unusual toppings, sandwiches and burgers, hearty salads, pastas, vegetarian entrées and meat and seafood dishes. Desserts range from apple pies and milk shakes to red velvet cake and carrot cake. Founding Farmers is a treat for the whole family and convenient to non-city dwellers. Note that the wine selection is somewhat abbreviated, but Founding Farmers' brews, specialty drinks, and "boozy" cocktails will appeal.
