K Restaurant Restaurant Review:

K Restaurant’s feel is small and neighborly, like eating in a friend’s dining room, and the food is unpretentious. Chef Kevin Fonzo offers American fare created with seasonal and local ingredients whenever possible, with some goodies from his own garden at the side of the restaurant. The menu changes often, but some staple starters include the stack salad, layers of tomato, local Waterkist Farm greens and goat cheese with a drizzle of citrus dressing, or the crispy Palmetto Creek Farms pork belly with micro greens, a dollop of avocado crème and refreshing watermelon. The wild mushroom-dusted K filet steak with Cabernet Sauvignon sauce is a signature entrée, but consider as well the Maine lobster and spaghetti topped with herbs and served in a sea urchin uni-scented tomato-seafood broth. We also suggest the “daily grind” burger at lunch made with a house-ground brisket patty topped with cheddar, lettuce, tomato and bacon.
