Torinos @ Home Restaurant Review:

The term “hidden gem” gains new meaning from Torino’s @ Home. Ensconced in an office park, this Santa Fe transplant is a labor of love for Nice-born chef Maxime Bouneou and his wife-partner Daniela, who hails from the Italian city that is the namesake of their charmingly idiosyncratic trattoria-slash-caffè. Working closely with area farmers and ranchers to procure sparkling seasonal ingredients, they’ve developed a daytime repertoire that’s luring the city’s foodies like few others. Out of all proportion to the casual, almost corporate setting --- not to mention the reasonable prices --- are the standout lunch and dinner offerings. From classic baccalà (salt cod creamed with potatoes and garlic) and skewered sausages to pasta Niçoise and porcini-tossed duck leg confit, the Bouneous make everything from scratch, with the exception of the salumi and cheeses they import. A small selection of wine and beer is apropos, but you’d do well to end on a bittersweet note --- with affogato (an ice cream-espresso float).
