THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Bacchanal Restaurant Review:

THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED For those who haven't been to South San Francisco lately, or ever, Grand Avenue is worth a trip. The quaint area brings to mind a different era in California history, setting the mood for a relaxing, comfortable meal inside the historic Metropolitan Hotel. The restaurant boasts a small bar where a weekday happy hour serves up good deals on specialty cocktails and appetizers. Martinis are a forte, but there are plenty of jazzed-up drinks to wet your whistle. Inside, the earth-toned dining room is filled with paintings from local artists and happy-to-help servers bringing bountiful plates of American Contemporary cuisine. Chef Mariah Hatfield offers classics like rib-eye steak with potato gratin, and a hearty Caesar salad starter alongside heirloom tomato salad with preserved lemon vinaigrette, and rack of lamb with a delicate coffee-scented demi-glace. Desserts like the warm and gooey chocolate molten cake and three-berry pie will surely satisfy anyone who is still hungry.
