THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Bayou Bar & Grill Restaurant Review:
Cajun cuisine certainly is a matter of taste, and fortunately, it always tastes good at this long-running hangout in downtown San Diegos busy Gaslamp Quarter. Casually-dressed conventioneers and tourists mingle with locals dropping by for their periodic fix of gumbo, red beans and rice or jambalaya, and the mood always is fun, thanks to non-stop music tracks that play all the great New Orleans favorites. The menu rarely changes, perhaps because Cajun and Creole recipes are more or less etched in stone, but thats no problem, because dishes like the seafood-covered eggplant lagniappe are always a pleasure. Everybody loves the peanut butter-chocolate Cajun velvet pie.
