THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Bella Luna Restaurant Review:
Blessed with one of the prime sidewalk terraces along the Gaslamp Quarter’s Fifth Avenue restaurant row, Bella Luna offers not only terrific people-watching but also an interesting menu. Fresh pastas include the handmade linguine, served with manila clams in a garlic butter, parsley and white sauce. Other standouts include baby eggplant, rolled and filled with soft ricotta cheese and spinach. The signature Bella Luna salad features organic greens dressed up with caramelized walnuts and honey Dijon vinaigrette. Several more pastas as well as a thick, Milanese-style veal chop---breaded, fried to a crispy golden and nicely topped with chopped arugula and tomato salad---round out the menu. The outdoor tables offer a good show, but those inside are more comfortable, quieter and romantic, thanks especially to a collection of art displaying Bella Luna’s namesake moon in all its phases and moods.
