Bernie’s Burger Bus Restaurant Review:

About the restaurant: This brick-and-mortar outpost of Bernie’s incorporates chef Justin Turner’s original school bus/food truck in its décor along with lockers you can write graffiti on. There’s a dog-friendly patio, too.

Likes: Head to the Teacher’s Lounge for an adult-only milkshake or classic cocktail.
Dislikes: Pretty much none, unless you don’t like dining around families and kids, in which case you can get take-out.

Food & Drinks: Turner added a full bar and a few menu items, like the chicken sandwiches. But all the famous, regular selections are here as well, including the Black Angus burgers and scratch-made truffle fries and condiments (which can be purchased bottled to take home). If you’re just puckish, try the Pre-Schoolers, cheddar cheeseburger sliders with a side of chili-cheese fries. Diners with bigger appetites will go for the Class Clown, two patties with American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and sauce on a potato bun along with some sweet potato fries. Meanwhile, The Substitute is a juicy blue cheese burger with fried onions and thick crispy bacon. Get plenty of napkins, particularly if you order it medium rare. Earn extra credit for washing it all down with an old-fashioned root beer float.
