Bistro du Marché Restaurant Review:
For more than a decade, chef-owner Jean-Michel Diot set the bar for classic French food in the San Diego area with Tapenade, which shuttered in May 2015. He returned to the dining scene with Bistro du Marché, named after the Open Aire Market La Jolla where the restaurant sources local ingredients. The kitchen, led by chef de cuisine Christophe Santos, turns out traditional fare such as escargots de Bourgogne, coq au vin and duck confit. "Rendez-vous Parisien" specials bring moules frites on Tuesdays and steak frites on Wednesdays.
