THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Bizou Restaurant Review:
In a turn of the century (the last one) building in a very (formerly) high-tech section of SoMa, Bizou has been a sunny spot serving up wonderfully rustic California-French food for almost a decade. The casually elegant dining room has a new sparkle thanks to a recent makeover. Nothing much has changed; the ochre walls are a bit richer, the flower boxes a bit fuller and the half moon oak bar has a shiny new veneer. Similarly, chef-owner Loretta Keller's menu is as attractive as ever. The not-to-be-missed deep fried green beans with fig dip are seasonal, so catch them when you can. Roast meats, tenderly prepared fish and simple pastas round out the menu. Desserts are simple but wonderful; try the intriguing chocolate vacherin.
