THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Blue Mountain Cafe Restaurant Review:
This tidy little no-frills café serving dynamite Cuban food keeps you well entertained with immense portions (the chicharrones appetizer aside) and several strategically placed overhead TV monitors reeling off various sports channels. While not exactly high-brow, such décor makes a perfect backdrop for some hearty Cuban, Caribbean and Latin dishes---plus one or two American dishes like a hamburger and Caesar salad. We love the fried pork cubes appetizer that comes with a good dunking sauce redolent with garlic and chilies. The menu holds nuggets such as ropa vieja and ceviche, and, of these, the lechon asado (roast pork) is memorable: thinly sliced roast meat is bathed in a criollo sauce and is then heaped up alongside a scoop of rice and a ramekin of black beans (which, by the way, could use a shot of seasoning). For dessert, look no further than the tres leches cake.
