THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Blue Ox Cafe Restaurant Review:
Casual family dining takes a turn to the Southwest in this charming Olney restaurant, where both lunch and dinner menus star the smoky, sometimes hot flavors of desert cooking. Start off with the Canyon nachos, a combo of the Blue Oxs unique and colorful tortilla chips with the typical cheese-salsa-guacamole topping. Luncheon sandwiches, such as the Southwestern chicken option, are eclipsed at dinner when full-scale entrées hit the deck. In the evening, look for a medley of Southwestern and Italian fare, with an emphasis on seafood and grilled meats served with such sides as red skin mashed potatoes and iron-skillet beans. Ask about the house-made desserts, presented on a platter, which may include a carrot cake, a Kentucky Derby pie, and a chocolate mousse pie. Be sure to find out what else the chef has whipped up for the day.
