The Blue Pig Tavern Restaurant Review:

People have been wining and dining at this site since the 1700s. The unusual name comes from an 1800s gambling parlor that also found a home in the same locale. Now, this relaxed, family-friendly place is tucked into a corner of the Congress Hall hotel, featuring dishes that range far on the long list of American favorites, from filet mignon and shrimp cocktail to legendary burgers including the Beach Plum Farm Burger made with bacon, Fontina and braised greens from nearby Beach Plum Farm, which is owned by the restaurant. The kitchen takes pride in presenting local ingredients, as well as dishes like blue fish served with butternut squash purée, and vegetable fricassee accented with lemon-herb compound butter. The dessert menu lists specialty coffees to go along with the sweets, which are all tempting but none more so than the Congress Hall Signature Apple Pie with a flakey crust, tart Cortland and Granny Smith apples, salted caramel sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
