THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Bonfire Bistro & Brewery Restaurant Review:
Blazing hickory fires in the open kitchen perfume the air along with the yeasty fragrance from the in-house microbrewery where the food is an equal partner with the lagers and ales. Diners may choose herb-crusted prime rib with mashed redskins or one of the thin-crust wood-fired pizzas, perhaps the best option (try the chicken, artichoke, garlic and Gouda version). Steaks and chops are flame-seared and include New York strip with tarragon butter, and diners will find sandwiches and ground sirloin burgers, too. The vanilla malt and porter praline ice cream at meal’s end is made from the malted barley extract used in the brewery. The setting in a free standing brick building is bright and upbeat, with expanses of uncovered windows and high ceilings and colorful murals of café scenes. The five specialty brews, including a seasonally changing option, are available in a sampler flight.
