The Bristol Bar & Grille Restaurant Review:
Locally owned The Bristol Bar & Grille has five area outposts, including the handsome venue sitting in the middle of historic Main Street's Museum Row. It has an intimate brick patio tucked away just off the sidewalk and a comfortable series of indoor dining rooms accented with custom-made blown glass fixtures. The menu’s Bristol Classics that have made it a local favorite for more than three decades include the California club salad (packed with seafood), filet Mandarin (soy, honey, garlic, ginger and Mandarin orange liqueur marinade), pork Dijonnaise (grilled pork loin with Dijon mustard sauce) and the steak sandwich (open-face on a grilled baguette with Henry Bain sauce). Only a few minutes’ walk away from the Kentucky Center for the Arts and Actors Theatre of Louisville, it’s an excellent choice for before or after performance dining or snacking. You can make a meal from the appetizer list: green chili wontons; artichoke fritters; fried calamari; black bean chili. All desserts, including rotating cheesecake flavors, are made in-house. The good bourbon and craft beer selection and the wine list, notable for variety and value, enhance the dining experience.
