THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED The Broker Restaurant Review:
This spin-off location of the original Denver Broker caters to the business set coming to and from DIA. While it lacks the charm of its mentor, the DIA version does offer the same old-school Victorian rewards, complete with dark woods, starched white tablecloths and other retro touches. Its also a shade less pricey than the original. And, yes, it also features the revered complimentary bowl of chilled peel-and-eat shrimp that has endeared the house to many. Its a wonderful touch that weighs in at over a pound, we love it. The house also serves other riches including a rare-in-Denver ceviche of scallops, and protein-heavy plates of meat and seafood. Filets come in beef and buffalo versions---a nice western nod; the porterhouse is dry-aged and massive. The slabs of halibut and salmon are also popular. Some snicker at the Broker as a place past its prime with food relying on bygone glory. But longtime locals and big business lunch and dinner crowds dont seem to agree.
