Bungalow feels like a bit of Sun Valley without the artistry. Located in Boise’s north-end Hyde Park, the space is simple with a small indoor dining area and a nice size full service bar. The most alluring aspect is the patio, which offers spacious seating, a fire pit and additional warmers; it’s a perfect winter spot to enjoy an outdoor cocktail. The menu runs the gamut of standard contemporary fare with some high notes. We recommend the spicy chorizo and seafood bouillabaisse, lightly drizzled with a thin saffron aïoli---a sensory smash. Equal in taste appeal is the tender grilled pork chop, served with blackened asparagus in a port reduction complemented with buttery sage mashers---a delightful combination of flavors. While Bungalow lacks in overall aesthetic appeal, its food and outdoor dining option help to compensate.
