THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Busalacchi's Restaurant Review:
Busalacchi’s may have moved down the street and added “A Modo Mio” to its name, but this family-run Hillcrest hangout retains its charm. Proprietors Joe and Lisa Busalacchi offer a menu slanted towards Sicily, and their son, chef Joey Busalacchi, helms the kitchen. A nice beginning arrives as thin crêpes filled with pesto and Romano cheese, caprese with burrata, or lightly breaded calamari. Veal, fish and chicken dishes dominate the entrée selections; the saltimbocca is a standout: tender veal medallions are topped with prosciutto and mozzarella and rest over spinach with a lemon-white wine sauce. Vegetarians will enjoy the eggplant layered with vegetables, mozzarella and marinara sauce, while scallop fans must try them alla Romana, wrapped in pancetta and nestled in cream sauce. Myriad satisfying pastas round out the menu. We also recommend the cannoli and pastries, and in all but the coldest weather we like to enjoy them on the patio by the fountain.
