Butler's Restaurant Restaurant Review:
This hotel dining room, right in the middle of Mayfair, has its devotees who come to drink at the intimate Terrace Bar (where a pianist entertains from 6.30 p.m. daily except Sunday). Then they sit down to a thoroughly satisfying menu of the likes of Orkney king scallops, Salisbury venison or herb-crusted salt marsh rump of lamb. Topnotch steaks or a roast of the day from the carving trolley are for consideration, too. The setting is as traditional as the menu: it’s solidly comfortable with the air of a rather posh dining room in a country manor house. There’s a good wine list from a cellar that prides itself on its range and the number of wines by the glass, and the restaurant holds regular wine tastings. Service is professional and friendly. Set 2-course lunch Mon.-Fri. £19.50, 3 courses £21.50. Pre-theatre menu 2 courses £21.50, 3 courses £25.50.
