C. Ellet's Restaurant Review

: Chef Linton and Gina Hopkins (Restaurant Eugene, Holeman & Finch Public House) are behind C. Ellet's, named for Linton Hopkins' great-grandfather, Charles Ellet. The restaurant is composed of The Dining Room, where dinner is served Wednesday through Sunday, and The Club Room, which offers lunch and dinner daily. An oyster bar is open daily and presents up to 15 varieties of oysters; it may even be accessed from outside the restaurant, so you can come up and order oysters and a drink to go. Thus, there are myriad ways to approach dining at C. Ellet's, which the Hopkins' describe as a modern take on the classic American steakhouse. Besides a wide variety of beef dishes, seafood, poultry and other proteins are available. Vegetarians will find plenty to enjoy among a variety of vegetable sides. Guests will encounter a raft of house-made desserts. For wines, Gina Hopkins has compiled a wide-ranging list, with many good choices by the glass.
