THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Cabana Grill & Bar Restaurant Review:
A little disorientation may result for first-time visitors to the Belleview Biltmore Resort. The hotel, on the National Register of Historic Places, has long been a resort and golfing destination. It holds the distinction of being the oldest continually occupied wooden hotel in the U.S. Guests who want to hit the sand and surf are transported several miles west to a slice of beach along the Gulf of Mexico where this grill and bar is located. (In fact, sunsets are quite a big deal with this restaurant. Check for precise sunset times months ahead if you want to time your meal with the setting sun.) The menu is traditional: surf ‘n’ turf, grilled lamb chops, roasted Long Island duck à l'orange. Appetizers emphasize seafood: blue crab cakes, calamari and steamed mussels. A favorite, though, is the Chilean sea bass and prawns, oven-baked in a lemon peel sauce. There's also a reduced Sunset Menu, offered from about 5 p.m. until, well, sunset.
