The Cactus Club, located near Newbury Street and the Hynes Convention Center, is a magnet for young professionals and students. The draw here is the drinks and the party atmosphere, not the food --- which is typical and unmemorable. Start off with a margarita, glass of sangría or share a Cactus bowl (the Mexican version of a scorpion bowl infused with a variety of tequilas). Pair it with taquitos de pollo topped with a tangy tomatillo sauce before moving on to chimichangas, empanadas, quesadillas, ensaladas or fajitas. A traditional burger is available, too. As the night progresses, a younger crowd moves in looking to embark on a tequila trip, so arrive early if you want to avoid the masses.
