THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Cafe Luciano Restaurant Review:

This is one of those favorite Italian food restaurants; a place to find mostly basic Italian dishes. The menu takes the casual road to Italy. By casual we mean there are enough pasta dishes to choke a Roman horse. However, in the same moda, there are a number of gutsy, earthy dishes (we call it the Anna Magnani collection), such as escarole soup with beans and sausage, giambotta (sausage, peppers, potatoes) and eggplant Parmigiano. There is polenta with mushrooms too, and lasagna as big as a brick. Desserts read better than they taste, but one not to miss is the chocolate gelato; it's like eating soft, cold fudge. More than two-dozen wines are available by the glass. For those who need it, there's a cigar-friendly room behind the regular bar. The place takes on a whole different look when the windows are thrown open in the summer.
