THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Cafe Sunflower Restaurant Review:
For more than 20 years, this popular Atlanta spot for vegetarian and vegan cooking has offered a soothing environment enlivened by punches of orange on chairs. Most dishes suit or can be adapted to vegan needs, and many will meet macrobiotic requirements. There are two locations, but they are really two quite different restaurants. One or two dishes are available at both places, such as the orzo lasagna, based on eggplant. Dishes at both restaurants come from a range of traditions, including Mexican, Indian, Italian and Asian. Offerings include grilled spaghetti squash cakes and the moo shu vegetables. A children’s menu is available, and for dessert there's a vegan-friendly dairy-free cake the specifics of which change often. This outpost does not serve alcohol, so the beverages list consists of fresh juices. Dinner closes early, at 9 p.m. on weekdays and 9:30 p.m. on weekends. Also located at Brookwood Square, 2140 Peachtree Rd. NW, Atlanta, 404-352-8859.
