Bordering Las Vegas and Green Valley in Henderson, this charming 32-seat caffè presents an extensive menu of Italian specialties. For starters we like the bruschetta with fresh chopped tomatoes topped with basil and olive oil or fresh mozzarella, and the pasta e fagioli. Among sandwiches, served with a mixed green salad or roasted potatoes, are the Black Angus hamburger and the classic Italian sausage with sautéed bell pepper and onion tomato sauce. The array of pasta dishes---your choice of spaghetti, fettuccine, angel hair or penne---includes the popular pomodoro basilico, arrabiata, checca, Alfredo with chicken, puttanesca and (our favorite) pescatora. Ravioli and gnocchi are topped with tomato basil or Alfredo sauce; risotto is flavored with tomato sauce and chopped vegetables, mixed seafood and garlic, or shrimp, garlic and pink sauce. There are eggplant Parmesan, chicken Marsala, veal Parmigiano, grilled fresh salmon, grilled prawns with garlic sauce and filet mignon with pepper-cream sauce. To-go only lunch special combos are packed in microwave-safe containers. Save room for Caffè Roma’s appealing made-in-house tiramisu and biscotti. Wine, beer and specialty coffees nicely complement the cuisine; singing pianist Renato Di Roma adds a romantic touch each evening.
