THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED NAMES TO ISLAND PRIDE. You won’t easily forget the slow burn after a jerk chicken dinner here. It’s hot, warns the counterman as he chops and serves up your chicken. That’s fine, we say, and it is hot. The jerk chicken must be their trademark dish---it’s got plenty of takers at this Rockville eatery. Other featured dishes include oxtail, curried goat, brown stew chicken and loads of sides: sweet potatoes, macaroni and cheese, fried plantains, greens and more. Unadorned and definitely no frills, this island eatery is all about good food at bargain prices. If you want to throw a Caribbean party, stop by and pick up several pounds of eats.
