THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Cassia Oriental Restaurant Review:
Surprises abound in this luxurious yet modestly priced first-floor restaurant and bar in Berkeley Square although sadly there is no view of that fabled aviary where the nightingales sang. The cool modern décor cleverly combines wooden panelling with pale beige and silver-gray colours, and a deep carpet makes this modern place quieter than most. Service is charming in the best Asian tradition, and both tableware and elegant presentation please the eye. The set-price menu includes delicacies from China, Japan, Vietnam and Thailand among its fourteen starters and fourteen main dishes. But despite its sophisticated westernisation, you shouldnt choose a western-style course meal. Main dishes are substantial, so as in other Chinese restaurants they should be shared, preferably by at least four people---although fewer can eat well especially from the shorter lunch menu. A skilfully selected list encourages the enjoyment of wine. Set 2-course lunch £10; set 2-course dinner £15, 3 courses £19, 4 courses £23.
