Taking over the space of a former Peruvian restaurant, Charcoal Chicken continues the Peruvian theme, featuring rotisserie chicken and a host of other Peruvian main dishes, plus, oddly, a handful of Brazilian dishes, such as the national favorite feijoada. Starting with the classic papa a la huancaina (potatoes in a creamy cheese sauce) or yuca frita (fried yucca), a half roast chicken makes a perfectly satisfying meal. A few open windows would be nice as the dark interior is gloomy, though maybe a great setting for nighttime entertainment. Also located at 9623 Lost Knife Rd., Gaithersburg, 301-869-5234.
