THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED LOCATIONS Chili Daddy Restaurant Review:
Blink and you’ll miss it---this tiny place is set off of South Street, in the back of a small building. You place your order at the window and the staff hands you a steaming bowl of chili (with or without rice, your choice). The wide variety of tasty, from-scratch chilis suits nearly everyone’s tastes. From classic Texas red with beef and pinto beans to sweet-and-savory mango pork (a bean-free, kid-friendly favorite), each one is made with a mild, homemade chili powder. A selection of hot sauces and spicy chili powders allow you to customize the heat level. Our favorites were the Thai basil, an exotic, brothy blend with chicken and mushrooms (even better when ladled over fragrant jasmine rice) and the Mongolian, with sesame oil and a deep, rich flavor. Chili Daddy is a good spot for a quick lunch, but it’s also a fine place to wind down after work with a cold beer and a flavorful bowl of homemade chili.
