Cibo Restaurant Review:
Cibo opened in the vanguard of decent Italian cuisine. Film stars and fashionistas flocked, and you couldn't get a table. Competition has thinned the buzz (no bad thing), but the cooking remains resolutely good. Servings, on brightly coloured Mediterranean china, are generous. Seafood is beautifully treated: mussels and clams cooked in wine, chilli and tomato to start; whole sea bream baked in foil with lemon and herbs, and deep-fried squid with prawns for mains. Meat dishes are equally as notable; try the roast rack of lamb with artichokes or braised wild boar with semolina dumplings for a winter treat. It is a pretty, creamy-colored restaurant where eccentric art adorns the walls. Service is sweet and obliging. Set lunch 2-course £19.50.
