This is a lively, neon-studded re-creation of a retro diner with chrome-edged formica table tops, booths, swivel stools and all. It’s twice as big as the midtown original, but menus are the same. And yes, the meatloaf plate is a lotta food for the money, and all the ice cream treats you recall---sundaes, sodas, shakes, floats---are available. Sandwiches are generous, omelets neatly filled and folded, and staff accommodating if crisp, in true diner fashion.
