Copperwood Tavern Restaurant Review:

Tucked away in the Shirlington area of Arlington, Copperwood Tavern celebrates local farmers and their top-grade meats and produce, including fresh bison, and the recognition even extends to the restaurant’s décor. Appetizers include an over-the-top portion of root beer-braised short ribs and a tasty sampler of seared scallops over foie gras. If it’s available, try the bison chop or the tea-smoked duck breast, both unusual finds in the DC metro area. A side of truffled mac ‘n’ cheese will brighten your spirits, too. Desserts may vary, but you may encounter balsamic strawberry shortcake. While you wait for your food to arrive, glance around at the dog photos on the wall --- the owner clearly loves canines. Scan the drinks menu, which lists zany cocktails, interesting brews and a solid collection of wines.
