THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Cote Sud Restaurant Review:
Although diners are heading, gastronomically, to the south coast of France, just stepping up the bright yellow staircase and sitting down in the enclosed, greenhouse-style patio, up in the treetops, may seem a unique enough destination. Inside, Côté Sud has a sunny yellow and sky blue motif with tables nicely spread around the cozy room, some nestled into a few of the room's nooks. The menu speaks fluent French with such home-style dishes as rich cassoulet loaded with sausage, plump white beans and duck confit; and the braised rabbit with tarragon jus and baby carrots. Both are served tableside from steaming cast-iron pots. The French and California wine list is well chosen for the style of cooking. Desserts, like the deeply caramelized tarte Tatin, are worth the wait. The prix-fixe menu is one of the better deals in town.
