A Decatur-based "designer diner," Crescent Moon is the chow of choice at this suburban mall. Popular breakfast items include hearty whole-wheat pancakes made from organic flour, three-egg omelets (we like the pimento cheese---house-made, of course---and Virginia ham). The emphasis is on organic ingredients in many dishes, and stone-ground grits (the right stuff) for breakfast. For dinner, enjoy hearty meatloaf, fried onion rings and mashed potatoes. New York-style cheesecake, its flavors changing daily, adds punch to the dessert menu. This location has a patio, and serves breakfast and lunch all day. It's also the source of those mile-high cakes as the company bakery is at this location.
