Criollo Latin Kitchen Restaurant Review

: Criollo offers Latin-inspired cuisine crafted with local ingredients and Flagstaff flair. The laid-back atmosphere --- recycled woods and brick and an oversize front window --- suits the cooking. Dishes incorporate as many regionally-raised products as possible, including grass-fed, range-raised Criollo beef that comes from the southern part of the state. The menu features items you won't find anywhere else in northern Arizona, including braised short rib empanadas, mojo-marinated pork tenderloin with grilled cactus-potato cake, and braised grass-fed Criollo beef patacon with fried green plantains. Don't miss the coconut and masa fried calamari, and the fish tacos with smashed avocado, ancho crema, cabbage and pico de gallo. Good margaritas are a bargain during happy hour.
