Crust Pasta & Pizzeria Restaurant Review:
Owners James Felton and Darren Henderson sought to create a family-friendly establishment that offered traditional Italian fare of the sort that Henderson enjoyed when visiting relatives back in Italy. The pair's emphasis on local materials extends to the finishing details of the space itself, with reclaimed wood and custom light fixtures. Tables are well spread out and seating is comfortable, and some long tables enable large family and friend gatherings. A bar adds TV to the entertainment value. Start with an appetizer of crisp calamari, served with lemon wedges and marinara sauce, or the arancini (fried rice balls). The crust on the four-meat pizza had a nice, chewy texture, and the baked ziti was a classic. Stromboli and calzone are alternatives to the pizza selections, and gluten-free choices are available. For dessert, there are the usual options, but we think Rose's ricotta cheesecake, a family legacy recipe, is ideal. The wine list is serviceable, and beers (Alpharetta’s Jekyll Brewing) and Georgia's Thirteenth Colony distilled spirits continue the local theme.
