Cucina Forte Restaurant Review

: Here's another reason to make the trip to South Philly: Italian-born Maria Forte is in the kitchen at this Italian gem and she means serious business. Forte brings authenticity and creativity to every plate. Her weightless gnocchi, either spinach or ricotta, with a Gorgonzola or marinara sauce is highly recommended. This is a family operation and it shows in the attentive service and the home-baked bread and pastas. Bring a good bottle of Italian wine and sample Maria's Dream Soup, filled with grilled chicken, sun-dried tomatoes and wild mushrooms in a chicken broth, or the veal rolled with prosciutto and provolone. Can't choose? Keep in mind that the pastas are available in half portions. The ricotta cheesecake is a must for dessert.
