Daphne's Restaurant Review:

Daphne’s opened in 1964 and has been drawing the locals ever since. Now it’s even prettier with a pink marble-topped bar, Murano glass chandeliers, good modern art and a charming conservatory with a retractable roof for summer dining and an open fire. Part of the Caprice group, which includes venues like Le Caprice, The Ivy and Scott’s, it’s 100 percent reliable and very chic. It’s favoured by the ladies-who-lunch crowd, evident from the preponderance of bottles of mineral water on the tables, while in the evenings one can spot the odd honcho or film star. The menu ranges over shosu, antipasti, pastas and risottos, grills and roasts. All the ingredients are impeccably sourced and chosen, inclined to the seasonal. Dishes run from veal and prosciutto ravioli or griddle scallops with chili and garlic, to yellowfin tuna and chicken Milanese. The wine list has some interesting Italian wines. Service is professional. The set menu runs Monday to Friday noon to 6pm: 2 courses £19.50, 3 courses £23.
