THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Davio's Restaurant Review:
This may be one of the only restaurants you'll encounter that, since the heady dot-com years, has managed to upgrade and do even better than before. This outpost is what you'd expect from a restaurant located near the MIT brain trust---lots of thoughtful details. Given the proximity to the 'burbs and the nearby Galleria mall, the crowd is understandably older, calmer and heavier on the station-wagon dynamic than that of the Back Bay branch. The kitchen, however, maintains its sibling's magic touch with pastas and chops. Spaghetti is eye-rollingly rich with lobster, guanciale (pork cheeks) and thyme cream; ditto a double-cut Niman Ranch pork chop, though potato-fennel hash and peach chutney provide piquant notes. Meanwhile, longtime fans needn't fret---old faves like penne with applewood-smoked chicken and sun-dried tomatoes remain.
