![]() : Michael Schlow has transformed his former Italian Via Matta space into a Greek-inspired concept. The interior has been redone completely with a center bar and massive wall hand-painted by Schlow's wife, Adrienne. Cocktails range from sweet to savory; The Crazy Way is made with brandy, blood orange and cinnamon. Starters include spreads like fava bean hummus, whipped feta with jalapeño and roasted eggplant. Share small plates like the lamb meatballs with their intriguing cumin and lemon zest, or the crunchy eggplant with crushed pistachios. Main events feature Schlow's 15-hour slow-roasted lamb shoulder, along with some of his wife's favorite family recipes. We like the crispy burnt pork ends and juicy loin lamb chops that go even better with a side of lemon and rosemary potatoes and roasted cauliflower kicked up with just the right amount of jalapeño. Save room for a sampling of the flaky layered baklava. |
