Old-time charm wreathes the wonderful old brick building as well as the southern-style menu at this attractive restaurant featuring such solid American dishes as meat loaf, country-fried steak, roasted or fried chicken and all the sides including collard greens, macaroni and cheese, cornbread dressing and yams. The moist and crumbly meat loaf---ask for the gravy on the side---and the crisp Southern fried chicken epitomize what the kitchen can do. The setting of spinning fans, exposed beams and brick walls is pleasantly airy. Service tends to be on the relaxed side, so some patience is required to fully enjoy this experience.
