One of the better affordable-Italian options in the East Village, East Post serves well-prepared food that leans toward the rustic. Polenta with a mushroom sauté, lamb ragù and roasted chicken are perennial favorites. Its late-night hours (till midnight Sun. to Thurs., and till 1 a.m. on Fri. and Sat.) and roomy dining room earn brownie points.
