The Ebury Restaurant & Wine Bar looks the part with smart green awnings and a décor of trompe l’oeil greenery on the walls. The menu runs the fashionable gamut, starting with the likes of gravlax or curried parsnip and pear soup. Mains might include cod crusted with chorizo and served with a courgette and saffron fondue, and braised lamb shank with polenta cake and kale. It’s all well cooked and prettily presented and there’s a cheese board, too. In keeping with today’s emphasis on health, a sizeable dairy-free and gluten-free menu is available; a bar menu accommodates those in a hurry. Sunday brunch is popular with the locals. Add a good wine list and a first-rate set menu and you can see why this is such a success. Set 2-course meal £22.50, 3 courses £28.50, with glass of Prosecco.
