The best Mexican food in San Diego County rarely is found in big, flashy restaurants. That said, this modest but clean and pleasantly decorated eatery is a favorite with the many workers of Mexican decent or citizenship who congregate in this part of pricey Encinitas. The Oaxaca-style cooking is fresh, exciting and invigorating, and the chicken in mole sauce to be one of the best we’ve tasted. There are seafood dishes, including camarones a la diabla in a fiery sauce, and at lunch, they prepare a hearty plate of huevos rancheros or eggs scrambled with chorizo.
